DILG, LGA capacitate local officials on COVID-19 contact tracing

The 15th L!STONG Ugnayan, COVID-19 ay Labanan online talakayan entitled “Intensifying the Local Contact Tracing Efforts on COVID-19” was conducted on May 11, 2020 with guest speakers from different agencies. A total of 1,331 local chief executives and fire marshalls participated via the Zoom meetings application.

National Task Force updates local chief executives on the strategies to fight COVID-19

The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), in partnership with the Local Government Academy (LGA) initiated a discussion with local chief executives on the National Strategies in fighting COVID-19. Members of the task force, headed by Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. joined the L!STONG Ugnayan, COVID-19 ay Labanan Online Talakayan Series to provide updates on the strategies of the Inter Agency Task Force for Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID).

Barangays, the frontline of government efforts

Acknowledged as the grassroots of public service, the Local Government Academy (LGA) initiated comprehensive discussions that aimed to strengthen the capacity of barangay officials in their fight against COVID-19. The 11th L!STONG Ugnayan, COVID-19 ay Labanan Online Talakayan Series provided information regarding the national government efforts against the pandemic as well as guidelines for the barangays on their roles and responsibilities.

DOH enumerates general principles of COVID-19 response

The Local Government Academy (LGA) recently concluded the 8th L!STONG Ugnayan, COVID-19 ay Labanan Online Talakayan Series on Strengthening Local Government Units' (LGUs') COVID-19 Response for the Luzon cluster and Visayas-Mindanao cluster of Local Chief Executives on April 21 and April 22, 2020, respectively. OIC Undersecretary Maria Rosario S. Vergeire and Dr. Beverly Ho from the Department of Health (DOH) interfaced with over 400 participants joining the online session.
